What happened during the July meeting in Schwäbisch Gmünd

After a long period off due to the worldwide pandemic situation, the 6th international meeting of the European project ‘Re-discovering Europe by feeling European Citizens Again’ took place on Thursday 7th July in Schwäbisch Gmünd – Germany attended by delegations of young students from Italy, Germany, France, Latvia, Bulgaria and Poland. The project,started in 2018 is dedicated to the younger generations, with the aim of promoting the values ​​of European citizenship and mutual understanding. This penultimate meeting was attended by several European students who shared training and mutual exchange activities with students of other nationalities on the themes of peace in Europe. , the future of the young European generations and the importance of environmental sustainability. 

“A highly formative experience for the young people who participated in it – explains Benedetta Diamanti, the manager of the Culture Dept. of the Municipality of Faenza, project leader – who have shown in the activities a maturity of reflection and an awareness that is not taken for granted on the major issues on which today Europe questions itself and on the issue of European citizenship. They have also shown, all, regardless of nationality, a great aptitude, almost a need, to forge relationships with peers from other countries, as if it were almost easier for them to communicate in these countries. situations of multiculturalism and multilingualism. An experience that I believe strongly involved them, this morning, at the moment of departure, the hugs and promises of new meetings were innumerable “.

The project has been developed since 2018 and is dedicated in particular to the younger generations, with the aim of promoting the values ​​of European citizenship and mutual knowledge. The last meeting will be held in Poland, in Boleslawiec, in the month of August.
